Rode 555 from Zanesville to Rt 78. All in all very nice ride with the road being in great condition except for the first stretch in Morgan Co. This stretch has some uneven spots and patches but nothing that will effect your ride.

in that stretch b/t zanesville and 78 isn't there a significant portion that is chipped/sealed and super narrow with alot of blind hills? I don;t mind blind hills but not on remote 1.5 lane roads that have shaky footing. I thought I remembered that stretch just south of the muskingum river being considerably different than what is near 78 and south of 78. I vowed never to do that stretch again.

I was just the whole length of 555 Wednesday.........as always, the cleanest/best part of 555 is from Chesterhill south to Rt7

Anyone ever notice the small farm with a bunch of mini-horses when you're heading towards WV on 555? Can't remember exactly where it's at but it always makes me laugh watch all those little horses scatter when they hear you coming.

I missed running 555 this season, but I usually run from Zaneville to the Ohio river. The road conditions always change county to county and after a rain - watch your ass. Once in a while you get a rare day with the road in reasonable condition and that is about as sweet as it gets. You got to be on your toes and focus at a 11 out of 10 or you can bite it. My riding buddy and I nicknamed it the "coaster" after the up and downs on the road. ("Do the coaster today?") Farther south it flattens out but it still a handful. On the best day, I think we knocked it down north to south in about 95 minutes.

I thought it was awesome, my wife did too... except for the motion sickness from all those curves.
