Default moto gp at indy...

So, let's say somebody wanted to attend the moto gp event in Indy this year, and let's say their only previous race experience was an Indy car event at Mid-Ohio...

Let's further say that this particular person was interested in camping out during the event, arriving on a Friday late afternoon and leaving Sunday to come home.

What could one expect? And, how would one arrange tickets, campsites, etc...

And, could this be done for this August or would this person be SOL at this point because everything is booked?

The expert on the venue is eating his way back to Ohio from this past weekends GP event.

I know some folks who have tent camped at Indy once. Once.

They all said never again.

You need a motel. Everybody jacks up their rates on race weekend. If you get a reservation as soon as the dates are announced you can save a lot of money.

We have stayed here many times:

They have rooms around $50 a night. Nice room with full size refrigerator, stove, and everything else you need. A easy drive to the track and the fairgrounds if you want to see the Indy Mile.

The stands at turn 15 and turn 4 are awesome places for seats. For general admission the viewing mounds at turns 6 and 7 are great. The mounds are also close to the motorcycle parking if you ride your bike.

all of the above plus- be sure to attend the Indy Mile while you are there for the Indy GP http://www.amaproracing.com/ft/news/index.cfm?cid=55997 BUT get there early as traffic can be a killer as the night goes on
