gearman is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Loaner tools: Yamaha shaft drive

If anyone has the need, I made a set of tools for servicing the FJR rear drive unit. These may also work on other Yamaha shaft drives from '89 on, including Vmax, Venture and even some watercraft. They perform the same function as Yamaha p/n's 90890-01229 / YM-01229 (pinion bearing retainer wrench) and 90890-04050 / YM-04050 (gear holding tool). They allow you to remove the coupling and bearing retainer for pinion removal. Although the disassembly and repair process may be covered in the shop manual, there is a similar (Venture) write up with pictures here: http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Librar......1006&id=383.

Nice tools You have there, I was wondering if you make them for sale.
I have a Yamaha Super Tenere, last month the drive shaft started to leak, I looked at one FJR report oil leak and realized that they look very similar.
I like the ones you made, they're also better to have on the bike.

This is a tool I found on this Brazilian site, different, but do the same job.

I speak Portuguese so it helped with the translation.
Small diameter 40.5mm teeth
Larger diameter of 46.5mm teeth
Number of teeth 29

If I lived near you I would at least give you a case of 24 to use them for a day.

That tool is also used in early Viragos XV750! If it's still available I sure could use it!
