Default Telelever Suspension

Ok, was doing some cleaning/looking on the LT. Found this, this evening. I suppose I've been riding with this issue, since I bought it past fall. Nighthawk or any other Beemer rider with some experience with the Telelever suspension. Would appreciate any input as to what this is.lol Not that it's going slow me down any, but would kinda like to know. The pic is from under the front fairing and above the front fender.

Thanks Dog, but is that the way it's supposed to be or is it broke? I can't find anywhere, where it should go.lol

the back of the rod should be attached to the frame and the body should be attached to the top casting on the outer fork tubes. it's a bi-directional hydraulic dampener. the rod should stay stationary while the body follows the movement of the forks.

Well after looking at more it seems to be connected to the front bridge next to the ball joint and then back next to the spring.
