Default new Shinko dual compound tire?! anyone try them yet?

Shinko tires has brought out a new dual compound sport/sport-touring tire. The 016 verge 2x. Basically compare to the pilot power 2ct I guess.

Well I need a new set of rubber for the sv so I ordered a front and rear of these new verge 2x. I'm wondering if anyone has used these yet, or even used the verge single compound?I've been running the Shinko 009 ravens for most my miles but I live in Ohio so the rear just flat spots before anything else wears and hoping the dual compound lives up to the hype.

Just a sidenote, I'm not looking for an arguement about tires or Shinkos. I like them and love the price. Just wanting opinions on the verge 2x dual compounds

I haven't used the dual compound yet but I have been happy with the 230 tour master I've been running. i'll have to check and see if they have the dual in my size.

They have standard sportbike tire sizes. Not sure what you need.

The prices on website are a lot higher than street prices. Chapparel had the cheapest I could find

Store inside out of the sun, they won't dry rot as fast.

I can only say the duals in general are awesome. Great wear, great in the rain and good grip. Only way to roll imnsho.

I did not have so much luck with the adventure bike tire, I think it is a 705?

One set did OK, not a very long life, but still a very good value.

On the second set my rear tire delaminated. Super hot weather. Close to 100 degrees and a few hundred freeway miles at 90 - 100mph. Tough conditions, but I have treated other brands just as bad with no delamination.

I've heard some shinko horror stories like this which is why I wondered since this dual compound is a new model so might not be so reliable.

I've been running the 009 ravens on my sv1000 with very good results. Good mileage even with 80-100mph highway trips and great wet and dry handling (although really I'm not good enough to out handle bicycle tires anyways ).

These dual compounds are about 20% more expensive so hopefully worth it?!
