Default Unimproved County Roads

Does anyone have a resource for locating these?

We have somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 roads around us that are still county owned, but I wouldn't try them in a Jetta.....

I've been using some old maps from the 50's and google maps and comparing to a current map to locate the ones around here, plus, growing up a farm kid helps.....

You live in Morrow County, every road is unimproved

Just kidding, I live in Knox, home of the tar and chippers and pothole fillers

Seriously though, check with the County engineers departments. Usually they will have county maps that show the roads and their conditions, paved/gravel/unimproved
If you get over in Knox Co and around Mohawk dam/Coshocton county, they have some nice gravel/unimproved roads and really nice scenery.

I guess I should have said unmaintained.....there are a number of them around here that just kinda stopped being taken care of, still a legal road, but fun on a dual sport.

Its good, I knew what were referencing.
But check with counties Engineer Depts. for maps, some might even have them on thier websites. Not sure if you have ridden around the Mohawk Dam area, if not, I think they may be just the kind of roads you are looking for. I have not been on it for awhile, but a few years ago, Bats Nest Rd. was accessible only by 4wd's. Lockers and winches were nice to have Very few to no residences and frequent flooding due to the watershed flooding, leaves the County little reason to maintain them.
Good Luck

I'll have to tool over and check it out. I know next to nothing about that area over there.
