Default My favorite chili recipe

4 lbs ground sirloin
1/2 lb bacon chopped into small pieces
4- 6oz cans hot Mexican style tomato sauce (Kroger brand)
1 large or 2 small chopped onions
4 or 5 cloves garlic (1 whole garlic thingy)
1/3 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon cumin
4 tbsp chili powder (give or take)

This is probably the easiest chili you'll ever make. Just put all of the RAW ingredients in your crock pot (set on low) at night before you go to bed. A good stir in the morning, then turn the crock pot down to its lowest setting to keep it warm till you are ready to eat. I don't personally care for beans but you could easily add whatever type you like, though I'd probably wait until a couple hours before you serve so they don't turn to mush.

Serve with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top.

Enjoy!

Looks good DIO, however we sub fresh ground sausage instead of bacon, do beans in ours, and serve over wheat rice + very sharp chedder cheese. It is getting to be chili weather.

Good on the recipes but we always add a whole bottle of Brooks Tangy Ketchup - and cut back on the tomato sauce, I know it may be a mite pricey for some but it adds something special to the chili taste. Can't find Brooks just anywhere - Kroger does not carry it here locally.

Made a batch today for my son's cub scout outing, decided this time I would write the recipe down! It is really good, I ate way too much of it!

You mean you're afraid you'd need to take a Jnor? LOL

They need to call a hazmat team when Jnor has to poop.

LOL yea you're not picky at all

I like Dave's recipe only leave out the onions, garlic and I'll tell you this ...no one is cumin in my chili . No sour creme either. I do like beans and cheese though. I'm not sure beer belongs in chili either.
