Default West Virginia

Going to be in WV this weekend for a day and a half. Will be by Seneca Rocks and want to take smoke hole road. Do any of you WV veterans have a preference on the direction of travel, north or south?

Smoke Hole Road is only 18 miles long. Ride it both ways !

You won't be disappointed.

Rt 33 from Seneca Rocks area over into VA (towards Harrisonburg) is one of my personal favorites.

Don't forget to go up to the top of Spruce Knob (just south of Seneca Rocks). Highest point in WV. The road up is a fun ride also.

Rt 250 from Rt 28 (Thornwood WV) over to West Augusta VA (thru Monterey VA) is another of my favorites.

I would love to take every one of the roads mentioned but on a tight time constraint. I plan on heading back later this year so maybe I can take some of them then.

If you had to choose, would you take smoke hole road or visit Spruce knob? Just don't think I'll have time for both.

After riding in West Virginia last fall, I can see why it is so popular with motorcyclists.

I'd probably do smoke hole road then. Spruce knob is much more scenic in the fall.
