Default Indian Demo Day at Iron Pony

Went to the Saturday Indian Demo Day at Iron Pony and rode a Roadmaster. It was awesome. I rode the color they call Willow. Not my favorite color but the other choice was straight black or flat gray. I am not a fan of the color combination (because I am not a fan of green) but I think it was the prettiest of the Roadmasters they had there for the demo. I have very seldom ridden a forward control bike having been a Gold Wing rider most of my life (yes I got my first GW almost 40yrs ago) but I really liked this bike and the controls. I have never ridden a bike with floor boards and these were great.

I have seen a couple of YouTube reviews for the Roadmaster and to them I must respectfully say: Pfffffffffffffttttttt! They reviews complained of mushy brakes and bad ergos. I did not find the brakes mushy at all. In fact the front brakes were very good and I found myself having to using them very little. The rear brake was very good and the giant brake pedal was very easy to find...lol. Again, not used to forward controls. The handlebars were perfect and the new "command center" with its 7" screen was, IMHO, perfectly placed. I didn't have to reach for it and the toggle on the hand grip I could almost do everything with that. I've also never ridden a bat wing fairing and wondered if it would buffet at speed...nope. (The bike will do at least 80 quickly...just saying)

The ride was fantastic. It was smooth and vibration free. The sound of the 111 cubic inch engine was great, even stock. I hit a few spots in the road that after I hit them I thought...wow didn't even feel that.

The entire ride I thought a few times..."Roger, you would love this."

Anyway it was a fun 30-40 minute ride and I encourage anyone who would like to the try one. I am a big Indian fan ever since I was a kid and this ticked a bucket list item off for me. If someday I can afford one of these beauties it'll probably be red like the one I saw in the show room.

I agree with you Warlock. I've ridden one and loved it also. Could be my next bike, if I can afford one. They are expensive but I have an fjr with a trunk added and riding trips two-up leave us wishing we had little more comfort and more room for packing. The Roadmaster would give us both and then some.
