I have not formed an opinion on Indian riders yet. I have not crossed paths with enough of them to pass judgement on them.

The actual truth is most people who ride motorcycles today are idiots. In the old days most everyone who rode were good people, things today are much different. Mostly I blame Malcolm Forbes. That is when everything started turning to shit, and then the internet put the final nails in the coffin.

Last summer, I was at Bright Power sports, who is a Yamaha dealer, and he told me that Yamaha had told him they were going to use the VMax engine in that bike and I was chomping at the bit for this bike to get released. Now, I'm so disappointed they went with an air cooled Vtwin instead. The old Ventures used the V4's. Yes, I know the American market is big on air cooled V Twins. There in lies the problem. So much of the American market is stuck on this love affair with V twins. Mostly because of the marketing of HD and this so called "feeling" one gets from a V twin, but can never really explain it, then use the old cop out, "if they have to explain, I wouldn't understand." They're partly correct. What I don't understand is why do so many American riders believe that outdated, inefficient, oversized and underpowered designs are so great.

Everyone is going for the look of the F6B Honda.

Honda, BMW now Yamaha.

If you're going to ride a beast that weighs 875 pounds anyway, why not get the version with the trunk and the rest of the creature comforts with the extra 60 or so pounds ?

Or you could buy a R 1200 RT that weighs several hundred pounds less and have removable saddle bags and trunk.

Those bikes are for people whose primary concern is how the bike looks.
