Ugly day today. Cold 36 degrees, foggy and drizzling. Took off at 9 am, only rode 35 miles. That's enough for today.

I thought you were retired. All these early cold weather rides sounds as bad as getting up and going to work.

lol... the difference is I get to "work" (ride) on my schedule now. I get grumpy if I don't ride. My wife will say "you'd better get your ride in" when she senses I'm feeling edgy, pacing around the house and looking out the front windows. She knows and encourages me to get out for a ride every day. I'm also healthier when I ride every day. For 24 years I had to ride after work and on weekends. I'd be a walking lunatic if I lived in northern Ohio where you guys report getting so much snow. I have motorcycle buds that are lucky to ride 5 months of the year in Colorado and Minnesota and in Canada. No way could I live like that.

All I need is an hour on the road (although 2 or 3 hours is better) and I'm relaxed the rest of the day.

I'm going to make a bunch of motorcycling videos this summer so next winter I can ride my exercise bike and watch the videos on my big screen TV.

Well today was certainly interesting. Woke up to another sheet of ice but only on the roads and drive this time. Weather terrorists never said anything about this. It was supposed to be sunny and near 40 today. Bunch of schools closed. Kept an eye on my driveway and by 2 pm as usual it looked good enough to get out. Get about 1/2 mile, and suddenly all the way across the road in a shady spot it was still ice covered (actually there were 3 spots but this one was the bigges)t. Made me stop and go "Oh Sh*t". Put my feet out like outriggers and slowly rode straight thru. Whew. After that piece of cake. Got in 71 miles. Oh had to cross it on my way back home too but wasn't skeered by then lol

also turned over this on today's ride on the ST

I had the video camera running on my commute today. The morning trip was eastbound into the sun, with a very bright blue sky, and my drive home was after sunset. The quality of the video was pretty amazing for a $50 camera. I connected my laptop with the SD card to my 50" flat screen TV with an HDMI cable to view it. Really pretty impressive....

Overall, the quality of the video was really good at 1080P setting. Based upon the amount of space used on the 32 gig memory card for my drive, I predict that the 32 gig card should hold about 6 hours of video at this setting. At 720p it may hold 9-10 hours.

I'm driving to South Carolina in a few weeks for work, so I may run the camera at the 720 setting and see how much of my 10+ hour trip it records.

I can't wait to try it on the motorcycles

I got one of those cheap knock off cameras on Amazon for use on my rc cars and I was also very impressed with how well it works. Not as good as the GoPro, but it gives very decent results at a price that was vastly lower than the price of the GoPro.
